Colonel Daniel M. Zerby, USA, was born in Mansfield, Ohio and enlisted in the US Army Reserve in 1992.  In 1993, he accepted an ROTC scholarship and received a commission in the Military Police Corps upon graduation from Cedarville University in 1995.  In 2007, he transitioned to be a Force Management Officer.  He currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Strategic Leadership Department at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security & Resource Strategy. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Eisenhower School Faculty Committee.  

His previous assignments include: Platoon Leader, 66th MP Company and Aide-de-Camp to I Corps DCG, Fort Lewis, Washington; Assistant S3, 94th MP Battalion, Yongsan, Korea; Adjutant, 759th MP Battalion and Commander, 143d MP Detachment, Fort Carson, Colorado; Commander, Everett Recruiting Company, Everett, Washington; Operations Branch Chief, Unit Integration Division, HQDA G8, Pentagon; Force Modernization Officer, 101st Airborne Division, Bagram, Afghanistan; Joint Force Management Officer, United States European Command J1, Stuttgart, Germany; Chief of Integration, United States Army Europe G3, Wiesbaden, Germany.

His military and civilian education include: MP Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Services Staff School, Intermediate Level Education, Force Management Qualification Course, Joint and Combined Warfighting School, the Naval War College, and a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University. 

His awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award (1OLC), Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (1OLC), NATO Medal, Parachutist Badge, Army Staff Badge, and the Army Recruiting Badge.

COL Zerby is married to Debi Spencer-Zerby and they have two dogs: Cello and Oboe.
