Commander Sean M. Egge, USN, reported to The Dwight D. Eisenhower School in October 2016 and has been an Associate Professor in the Defense Strategy, Acquisition and Resourcing Department, a member of the Environment Industry Study teaching team, and lead for the Healthcare Industry Study. Prior to Eisenhower, he was in Command of the Fleet Logistics Center Bahrain (FLCB), located in Manama, Bahrain, home of Naval Forces Central Command and the US Navy’s FIFTH Fleet. At FLCB he led over 180 active and reserve military, US civil service and local and third country national personnel providing full spectrum operational logistics support and quality of life programs to Navy, Joint, and Coalition Warfighters, DoD civilians, and their families operating in the NAVCENT Area of Responsibility.
CDR Egge was commissioned in 1993 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program after graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, a Master of Systems Analysis degree from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Diplomacy degree from Norwich University.
Sean’s sea assignments include Supply Officer of USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN 73), at the time the Navy’s only permanently forward deployed aircraft carrier homeported in Yokosuka, Japan, as well as Supply Officer of USS INDIANAPOLIS (SSN 697), Supply Officer of USS GREENEVILLE (SSN 772), Principal Assistant for Services and Logistics on USS NIMITZ (CVN 68), and duty onboard USS MCKEE (AS 41).
His shore assignments include Fleet Logistics Center (formerly Fleet and Industrial Supply Center) Puget Sound; Defense Logistics Agency-Aviation (formerly Defense Supply Center Richmond) as Aide to the Commander; NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (formerly NAVICP) Philadelphia leading the E2/C2 team followed by leading the Engines team; The Joint Staff as the Logistics Functional Capability Board (FCB) Secretariat supporting the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS); and Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific as Afloat Policy, Training, and Inspections Officer.
CDR Egge earned supply corps aviation, surface warfare, and submarine officer designations. He is a member of the Acquisition Professional Community and fully Joint qualified. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Achievement Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Sean is married to the former Ms Kelsey Huke of Chester Heights, Pennsylvania and they are the proud parents of Theodore, Jameson and Charlotte.
