CAPT Peter D. Galindez, JAGC, USN

Military Instructor

Captain Galindez graduated from Yale University in 1991 where he earned a BA in economics. He received his JD from Touro Law Center in 1995 and commissioned in the JAG Corps in 1995 via the Student Program. 

Upon graduating NJS in 1996, Captain Galindez was stationed at NLSO, Yokosuka, Japan where he served as a trial counsel, legal assistance attorney, tax officer, and claims officer. After leaving Yokosuka, he served in USS John C. Stennis as Legal Officer and Brig Officer. After departing the ship, he reported to Naval Justice School in Newport as an instructor where he was assigned to the Civil Law Department and served as the Administrative Law Division Officer.

Following NJS, Captain Galindez reported to OJAG’s Administrative Law Division and served in the Military Affairs Branch and as the Personnel Law Branch Head. In June 2006, he reported to Carrier Strike Group TWO as the SJA and then on to NLSO SW, San Diego as the Executive Officer from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2013, Captain Galindez was assigned as the Special Assistant for Military Affairs to the ASN(M&RA) and from 2013 to 2014, served as the Executive Assistant and Special Counsel to the GC of the Navy. From 2014-2016 he served as CO, DSO SE.  Following his CO tour, he served as Force Judge Advocate, Commander Naval Air Force Atlantic until 2019, when he served as the SJA for Navy Warfare Development Center from 2019 to 2023.

Captain Galindez’ personal awards include the Legion of Merit (three awards), Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
