Mr. Nash served in the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) under the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Liaison. Mr. Nash received his commission in the U.S. Army, graduated from the Officer Basic Course, and reported to Germany for his first assignment as an Army officer. In Baumholder and Dexheim (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) he served as a platoon leader, company executive officer, battalion training officer, and a brigade staff officer in the 1st Armored Division. He also deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the Implementation Force (IFOR) and served as a Joint Military Commission (JMC) officer responsible for Task Force interactions with representatives of the three former warring factions during Operation Joint Endeavor. Upon returning stateside, Mr. Nash attended the Officer Advanced Course prior to serving as the headquarters company garrison commander at Fort Lee, VA. Mr. Nash graduated from the Command Arms and Services Staff School and assumed command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command. Following his military service, Mr. Nash focused on national security issues in a civilian capacity and eventually joined the faculty of the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. Mr. Nash has a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the United States Military Academy, an Executive Certificate from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
