Pete Ahern joined the Lockheed Martin Corporation in September 2015 after completing 29 plus years of distinguished service in the United States Marine Corps. He is currently the LMGA Director, Navy-Marine Corps Programs and the Lockheed Martin Industry Chair to National Defense University in Washington D.C. In 2017 Mr. Ahern was awarded the LMGA Customer Focused Culture Award. In 2018, 2019 and 2022 he received LM NEXTGEN Recognition awards. He is a 2021 graduate of the Lockheed Martin Business Development Leadership (BDLA).
Mr. Ahern came to Lockheed Martin from Headquarters, United States Marine Corps, where he served as the Director of the Marine Corps Commandant’s Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG) and as the Transition Team Director for General Joseph Dunford when he became the 36th Commandant of the Marine Corps in 2014. He commanded at the company, battalion and regimental levels and was the Commanding Officer of the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF). Mr. Ahern is a graduate of St. Ambrose University, a Distinguished Graduate of the National War College, Marine Corps Command and Staff (C&S), the School of
Advanced Warfighting (SAW) and holds a Master in National Security Strategy.
He and his wife Michel reside in Burke, Virginia and have two sons Matthew (26) an active duty Marine Corps Captain and Joshua (23).
