COL David Brown received his commission into the Infantry in 2002 from the University of New Hampshire. His first assignment was with 2-87th IN, 3rd BCT, 10th MTN DIV where he served as a rifle platoon leader, company executive officer and battalion S-4. During this time, he deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Dave’s second assignment was with 4th BCT, 101st ABN DIV. He served as a battalion S-4 and anti-armor company commander with 1-506th IN where he deployed again to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Dave was selected for a second command in 1-61st CAV and served as the dismounted reconnaissance troop commander. He deployed for a fourth time to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
In 2012, Dave was selected to teach in the Department of Military Instruction at the United Stated Military Academy. During his time, he served as an Instructor, Course Director and Deputy Chief of Military Science. In 2015, Dave transferred branches from the Infantry to Adjutant General’s Corps. During his time as a Human Resources Professional, he has served as a Brigade S1, G1 and J1 supporting tactical, operational and strategic missions. Most recently, he completed a tour at the Pentagon with the Department of the Army.
