Col Joseph M. Hank, USAF

Military Instructor

Colonel Joe Hank is a faculty member at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University, Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, DC. He is an acquisitions officer with experience in nuclear modernization and strategic deterrence.

Col Hank received his commission through the University of South Alabama ROTC program in 1999.  His assignments have included duties as an ICBM combat crew member and instructor; staff positions as a program element monitor at Headquarters Air Force and action officer in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment; Director of Operations of an intelligence squadron; and acquisition positions in science and technology and ICBM nuclear modernization programs, specifically in the Sentinel ICBM program office.

He is a graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology, the Sandia National Labs Weapon Intern Program, and the Air War College.  He has also served as the Lead Project Officer for the W87-1 and WXX nuclear warheads.
