Dr. J. Scott Frampton (USMC, Ret.)

Dr. J. Scott Frampton completed his Ph.D. in May 2011 studying Public Policy and Administration from Walden University. He has been instructing at the higher education level for over 25-years and has served on over fifty dissertation committees. His other degrees include: BS, Texas A&M University (Political Science); MS, Boston University (Business Administration); MS, Naval Post Graduate School (Management); and a MS, National Defense University (National Resource Strategy). His award-winning research includes econometric and strategic management topics. Dr. Frampton’s Master’s Thesis concerned pay-for-performance within a military framework and his Ph.D. dissertation analyzed how attitudes influence the performance of female Marine Corps Security Guards. He has been published many times in the Marine Corps Gazette (the professional journal of the U.S. Marines), Washington Post, Public Administration Times, and Public Administration Review (PAR). He is a retired U.S. Marine Corps Officer who has served in command billets in combat, humanitarian, and detention operations spanning an active duty career of over 22 years. His military service included postings in Iraq, Japan, Cuba, and most Central American and Caribbean countries throughout the Western Hemisphere. He also served over thirteen years as a supervisor in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with assignments to the National Security Branch, Intelligence Division, and the FBI’s Forensic Laboratory, located in Quantico, Virginia. Dr. Frampton lives in Northern Virginia with his lovely wife, Polly, and their four children: Nicholas, Natalie, William, and Richard.
