Colonel Vincent J. O’Connor is an instructor at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University, Fort Leslie J. McNair, Washington, D.C.
Prior to his current assignment, Colonel O’Connor served as the Vice Commander, 31st Fighter Wing, Aviano Air Base, Italy. He has led in numerous joint and operational assignments, both stateside and overseas, throughout his career.
Colonel O’Connor is a command pilot with over 2,800 flying hours in the T-37, T-38, AT-38, and F-16C/D. He has flown over 750 combat hours in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL and NATO’s RESOLUTE SUPPORT mission.
Colonel O’Connor received his commission from the AF ROTC program at the University of Notre Dame. He is also a graduate of the National War College.
Colonel O’Connor hails from Fairfax, Virginia, and is supported by his wife, Anne Marie, and their two children, Grace and James.
