With more than 30 years of National Defense experience, I am a seasoned defense acquisition practitioner, educator, and leader with a passion for national security and defense. I currently serve as the Director of the premier Senior Acquisition Course (SAC) program at The Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Management at National Defense University, where I oversee the development and delivery of a graduate-level curriculum that prepares senior military and civilian leaders for complex acquisition challenges. I hold a Doctor of Education (EdD), a Master of Education (EdS), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Master's in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. Additionally, I am certified in Lean Six Sigma, Government Contracting, Program Management, and serve as a member of the defense acquisition research journal board. I am driven by a mission to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the next generation of acquisition professionals, and to foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration among the acquisition professionals, faculty, staff, and students.
Prior to joining The Eisenhower School, I was the Commander and Director of Raytheon Tewksbury at the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), where I led a joint command of 140 military and civilian professionals who performed acquisition life cycle management and oversight of more than 2300 contracts totaling over $89 billion. I was responsible for providing contract administration services that included contractor purchasing systems reviews, cost and pricing proposal analysis, quality assurance, engineering and manufacturing, program support integration, supply chain analysis, and earned value management. I leveraged my skills in operational planning, defense contracting, and program management to ensure the timely and effective delivery of critical defense systems and services to the warfighter. I also partnered with senior leaders from Raytheon, the Department of Defense, and other stakeholders to build and maintain trust, communication, and alignment of goals and expectations.
