Chaplain (COL) Khallid Shabazz is the NDU Chaplain and Assistant Professor at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School, National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C.
He previously served USARPAC Command Chaplain CENTCOM Command Chaplain USARCENT Command Chaplain, & Senior Advisor to the Commanding General on all Religious affairs at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Colonel Shabazz has served every command echelon and completed fellowship at the University of Texas studying the effects of Moral Injury on Soldier after combat.
Colonel Shabazz has earned two Doctorate Degrees
Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Trident University International,
Doctor of Ministry from North Texas Theological Seminary at Tyler Texas.
He also holds four master’s degrees. Claremont University (Interfaith Action), Hartford Seminary (Comparative Religion) (Duquesne University (Philosophy & Ethics), Trident University International (Higher Education.
His awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal (DSSM), Legion of Merit (LOM) (2) Bronze Star, (8) Meritorious Service Medal Joint Army Commendation. He was also awarded the Humanitarian award for outstanding volunteerism, Humanitarian Service Medal (HSM). Saint Michael’s Medal for service to Army Aviation, Saint Barbara’s Award for service to the Field Artillery Corps.
He is married to the former Rhonda Wright of Wills Point Texas has three children and four grandchildren.
