Colonel Lauren R. Maloney graduated from Methodist College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration. She was commissioned as a Transportation Officer through the Methodist College Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program.
Colonel Maloney served as a platoon leader with the 1098th Boat Company, 24th Terminal Battalion at Fort Eustis, Virginia. She spent five years with the battalion in key staff positions and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006–2007) as the S-3 (Training) Officer. After her deployment she commanded the 271st Movement Control Team and was the Rear Detachment S3 for the 53rd Movement Control Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade, Fort Eustis, Virgina. She later commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 1st Sustainment Brigade, Fort Riley, Kansas. Subsequent assignments include Basic Officer Leader Course Sustainment Instructor, 1-145th Aviation Regiment and Brigade S-4, 1st Aviation Brigade, Fort Rucker, Alabama.
In 2013, Colonel Maloney transferred to Functional Area 50 (Force Management) through the Army's Voluntary Transfer Incentive Program. Her first Force Management assignment was within the Force Management Directorate, HQDA G-3/5/7. Additional assignments include Chief of Force Integration, Office of the Chief of Cyber; Chief of Force Management, Army Futures Command; and Chief, Force Management Division (LTC FA50 Key Nominative Billet), V Corps. She deployed with V Corps in February of 2022 to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. She later served as the Global Force Management Branch Chief at United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Colonel Maloney currently serves on the faculty at The Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University, Fort McNair, Washington, D.C.
Colonel Maloney is a graduate of the Transportation Officer Basic Course, the Logistics Captain's Career Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Force Management Officer Qualification Course. She graduated from the Air War College in 2026 and holds a Master of Strategic Studies from Air University. She also holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy University.
Her awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with four oak leaf clusters), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal. Her unit awards include the Joint Meritorious Unit Award while serving with HQ, United States Transportation Command, and the Army Superior Unit Award while serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, U.S. Army V Corps. She has also earned the Army Staff Identification Badge.
Colonel Maloney is married to Mr. Blake Grantham, a Department of the Army Civilian at the United States Army Combat Readiness Center. They have two dogs Moose (Shi-Poo) and Prudence (Shih Tzu).
