Colonel Allison is an Assistant Professor at the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy, National Defense University, Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C.
Before joining the Eisenhower School, he served as the Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs, and Chief Academic Officer at the U.S. Air War College. Colonel Allison earned his PhD in History from Auburn University and specializes in Baltic security and Russian/Soviet Union history. He teaches courses on grand strategy and national security, and joint warfighting.
Colonel Allison is a career special operations pilot and has commanded special operations units at the squadron and deployed group levels. He has supported operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and across the African continent. Additionally, he also served as the USSOCOM Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs on Capitol Hill.
