CDR Gregory Chapman, USN

Associate Dean of Faculty

Commander Greg Chapman is the Associate Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs at the Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy at the National Defense University, Washington D.C.  

 

A career submariner, he previously served in the maritime readiness directorate (OPNAV N83) on the CNO’s staff at the Pentagon prior to reporting to the Eisenhower School. His sea tours aboard submarines include service as Executive Officer, PCU Delaware (SSN 791) in Newport News, Virginia, as Engineer Officer aboard USS Nevada (SSBN 733) in Bangor, Washington, and as a division officer onboard USS Miami (SSN 755) in Groton, Connecticut.  

Ashore, Commander Chapman served as the Force Radiological Controls Officer (N442) for Commander, Submarine Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor Hawaii, and as 3rd company officer at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.  

 

He commissioned from the Naval Academy in 2002 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and earned a M.S. in Leadership, Education, and Development from the University of Maryland in 2006. He was a Distinguished Graduate from the Eisenhower School in 2020. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
