Colonel (Col) Scott joined the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) in June 1994 under the Regular Officer Training Program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. During his career as an Army Logistics Officer, he has served in a variety of line and staff positions within the Canadian Army Service Battalion construct including Transport Platoon Commander, Battalion Training Officer, Second-in-Command of Administration Company, and Operations Officer (all with 1 Service Battalion) as well as Officer Commanding Supply Company, 2 Service Battalion (2008-2009).
His employment beyond the familiar routine of the Service Battalion has been diverse including J7 Operations, Canadian Forces Joint Operations Group Headquarters; G4, 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group Headquarters; J3 Support, Canadian Joint Operations Command Headquarters (CJOC HQ); J3, Canadian Materiel Support Group Headquarters, Base Commander, Canadian Forces Base Suffield (2015-2017) and most recently as Chief Support Plans, CJOC HQ.
In addition, Col Scott has been deployed on several operational tours. He has served as a National Support Element Duty Officer with Op PALLADIUM Rotation 11 in Velika Kladusa, Bosnia-Herzegovina (2002); G4 Operations with Op ATHENA Rotation 2, National Command Element in Kabul, Afghanistan (2004); and Officer Commanding Supply and Transportation Company with Op ATHENA Rotation 9, Task Force 1-10 in Kandahar, Afghanistan (2010).
Col Scott is a graduate of the Canadian Army Command and Staff College, the Canadian Joint Command and Staff Program and the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba, a Master of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from National Defense University.
For his strong work ethic and commitment, Col Scott was awarded two Commander Land Force Command Western Area Commendations, the first in 2003 for the sustainment of forest fire fighting efforts in British Columbia and the second one in 2004 for mission mounting efforts in support of Op ATHENA Rotation 2. In 2011, he received a Commander Land Force Command Central Area Commendation for the coordination of the deployment and sustainment to Exercise Maple Resolve 1101 – a brigade level training event in Wainwright, Alberta.
Col Scott is married to his wife, Allison, and together they have two teenage daughters. He is an avid weightlifter and a passionate hockey (Winnipeg Jets) and Canadian football (Winnipeg Blue Bombers) fan.
